She is the face of Maharashtra tourism and now model Mugdha Godse is all set for her Bollywood debut and how. The pretty gal will play the role of a supermodel in Madhur Bhandarkar’s ‘Fashion’ with scenes reminiscent of Carol Gracias’s famous ‘wardrobe malfunction’.

“It’s a hard-hitting performance oriented role which tracks the journey of a model,” says the 23-year-old. As for the malfunction, it could still happen without being there in the script.

Kangana Ranaut - Naked truth exposed

‘Phewww man… That’s cool!’ is the reaction doing rounds over the racy picture of actress Kangana Ranaut on the cover of Stardust. The photo on the cover of annual issue shows Kangana dressed in a body suit that gives the impression of nudity. On top of it, the headline says: ‘Naked Truth Exposed’. Though the image hasn’t kicked any controversy, it has certainly raised many eyebrows.

Well, the actress with ‘I don’t care a damn’ attitude is unmoved by all the fuss and was quoted saying, “What’s the big deal about the picture? Are any of my vital organs seen? I haven’t posed nude at all.”

‘Singh is Kinng’ facing controversies

Akshay Kumar’s Sikh look in Vipul Shah’s forthcoming ‘Singh is Kinng’ has been facing objections from the time the first promotional still of the film was released. It is being said that his clean-shaven face with a trendy turban is a mere mockery of the Sikh culture.

Now, there is another photo from the film’s sets which is doing rounds on the net which is facing objections from the Punjabi community in Australia over the way Akshay is wearing a turban.

However, director Vipul Shah insists that the photo does not depict Akki’s real look in the film. It was taken without permission. Vipul Shah defends saying that Akshay is himself a Punjabi and is working in close coordination with stylist Shabina Khan for his look in the film. Apart from this, a local Sikh is always on the sets to guide Akshay about how to wear a turban.

Vipul Shah is shooting almost half of ‘Singh Is Kinng’ in Australia in his two month long schedule. After this the film will be shot in Punjab, Mumbai and Egypt.

SRK and Big B get friendly on the sets of ‘Bhootnath’

They are superstars. They are mature and diplomatic knowing for sure how to hide their darker sides and keep nasty gossips at bay. So, it was just like SRK and Big B when both these superstars (defying all the rumours of the cold war between them) were seen mingling comfortably with each other on the sets of ‘Bhootnath’.

The two of them were spotted on the sets sharing some time together playing cards and other games between shots. If that not all SRK even gifted the Big B some DVD’s of latest games, also they even indulged in a general knowledge game called Trivial Pursuit, where SRK was the official quiz master. By the looks of it the Khan and Bachchan war is finally coming to an end.

Asia’s sexiest man and woman

‘Sexy! Who me?’… was the reaction from SRK when he was voted as the sexiest man in Asia leaving behind two other hot hunks- Hrithik Roshan and John Abraham. From a list of 100 names that were published and featured for poll on the UK’s leading Asian newspaper, King Khan walked away with the crown.

However, SRK is a shy guy and smiles saying, “Personally if I was to look at myself, I think I’m as sexy as a bubblegum wrapper, but then Kehte hain na, khuda meherban toh gadha pehelwan.”

As for the lady, last week Bipasha Basu had won votes in favour of her and was titled the sexiest woman in Asia, followed by Priyanka Chopra and Madhuri Dixit. As we all know that the lady had gone under the knife for you-know-what enhancement, true was the snide remark from a jealous co-star from one of her recent releases, shouldn’t the award go to the best plastic surgeon of the year?

Watch out for Rituparna Sengupta

After her Bengali hit ‘Anuranan’, Rituparna Sengupta has some promising projects in her hands which are sure to strengthen her foothold in the Bollywood industry. The promos of her upcoming supernatural thriller ‘Gauri- The Unborn’ are out and the gal is busy these days promoting her film with her tour all over India.

Her next project which is on the verge of completion is ‘Saab Chai Paani’. The movie directed by Manish Gupta is based on corruption. Talking about it, Sengupta says, “I play Sonu Sood’s wife in the film who is a hardcore Maharashtrian. I didn’t have to speak much of Marathi, just a few words here and there. We also had someone on the sets to help me out“.

Her next film is titled ‘Love Game’ and has Randeep Hooda as her co-star. ‘Love Game’ is an out and out comedy film. The film is about a chef who keeps having relationships and changes girls by the day. But what happens when he actually falls in love is what the films is all about.

Not only this, Sengupta is also working in a serious political thriller titled BBD directed by Anjan Dutt. The title stands for three historical characters namely Binoy, Badal and Dinesh.

Looks like this Bong Beauty is all set to rock Bollywood with her talent and versatility!

Madhuri Dixit’s invitation to dance with her

Madhuri Dixit’s dancing skills have not faded a bit with passing years, as is undoubtedly proved by the promos of her forthcoming flick ‘Aaja Nachle’ releasing on 30th November.

Now, Mads will make her fans dance along again with her dance number ‘Dance With Me’. This English track has been written by Asif Ali Beg who in the past has written for films like ‘NEAL N NIKKI’, ‘DHOOM 2’ and ‘VICTORIA NO. 203’, among others. The song crooned by Sonia Saigal will show Madhuri’s grip in western dance too.

Meanwhile, if sources are to be believed this dance diva is unhappy with the way her comeback film is being promoted. Madhuri Dixit feels that the promos and the storyline of the film were leaked too early thus choking the interest and curiosity of the audiences. Anyway, she is keeping her fingers crossed to see the fate of her ambitious project.

Amrita Rao in David Dhawan’s next

Amrita Rao’s next on the box-office will be ‘My Name is Anthony Gonzalves’ opposite the newcomer Nikhil Diwedi.

Now, she has signed up David Dhawan’s new film for UTV which will be his first non-comic outing since ‘Swarg’ and ‘Andhiyaan’ at the beginning of his brimming career.
Though David initially wanted Shahid Kapoor as his male lead, eventually, Sidharth the choosy Rang De Basanti Telugu actor has taken over the onus of hero-giri in Dhawan’s film.

Confirming her presence in David Dhawan’s film Amrita says, “It’s not a typical David Dhawan film at all. From what I could make out of the script it’s far removed from the image that he has.”

As for Siddharth, Amrita says she hasn’t met him as yet. “But I’m sure we’ll make an interesting and convincing pair,” says the gal.

SRK and Sushmita Sen to recreate magic again

The chemistry of Sushmita Sen and SRK was breathtaking in ‘Main Hoon Na’. Now, they will share the screen space again in Mudassar Aziz’s debut film ‘Dulha Mil Gaya’. However, Shahrukh only makes a guest appearance in the film opposite Sushmita. The shooting will start in Trinidad and Tobago in March 2007 and Sush is very excited about it.

“I’m looking forward to visiting Trinidad. It was one of the first countries I visited as Miss Universe. I was so touched when Viveck Vaswani (producer) told me people still have my picture in their homes in Trinidad.

Filming there would be fun. And yes, Shah Rukh and I were really good in Main Hoon Na. Dulha Mil Gaya would probably be an encore,” says the charming lady.

Yana Gupta in Maxim for the second time

Such is her appeal that for the second time this year Maxim has put Yana Gupta on the cover! The pictures she has posed for in this edition are real hot but Yana was cool as cucumber during this near-bare-all shoot, for the only reason that it was shot in London, which, according to this lovely lady, is a cool place to-do such shoots, since, ‘people there are comfortable with nudity’!

As we told you, Yana is currently working on a music album in London. The lady, in her interview, also hinted at the fact that she is single and ready to mingle. However, her man is not about looks, achievements or money. It’s just that he should be smart and witty. Are all the smart guys out there listening?

Shadaab Khan ready with his directorial debut

Late Amjad Khan’s son Shadaab Khan has come a long way since his debut as an actor in ‘Raja Ki Aayegi Baraat’ opposite Rani Mukherjee. He is now ready with his directorial debut, “Highway 203″, a thriller starring K.K. Menon and Perizaad Zorabian. Produced by Prince Dendona the movie is a small budgeted project.

The film, ready for release in February, was originally meant to feature Naseeruddin Shah and Tabu. Shadaab narrates his bitter experience with them, “Tabu showed great interest and then vanished without a trace! Shah one fine day got his secretary to inform me he isn’t doing the film, but that’s okay. The goodwill that my father generated died with him.”

However, Shadaab is very happy with the work of his lead pair. “I’m glad I got K.K. and Perizaad. K.K. is an astonishing actor and Perizaad, who plays a very bad aspiring actress, was a surprise,” says the young actor-turned director.

Kareena Kapoor in ‘Mr. Singh and Mrs. Mehta’

They made a fabulous team to give up a strong performance in the critically acclaimed ‘Omkara’. Now, director Vishal Bharadwaj and actress Kareena Kapoor team up once again for the love story “Mr Singh & Mrs Mehta” to be produced by UTV. The movie is based on a love story of two married people.

Not long before, Aamir Khan had been chosen for the lead role, but somehow Aamir Khan and filmmaker Vishal Bharadwaj did not agree with each other on certain points in the script and they decided to amicably part ways.

While Kareena Kapoor will play Mrs. Singh, the production house is looking around for Mr. Mehta. Let’s see who eventually bags the role!

Kareena, who is anyway beaming coz of her new found love (Saif Ali Khan), is all smiles again, “Yes, I’m going to work with Vishal again. He is such a sweet human being and a fantastic director. His sense of screenplay is outstanding. He’s a master at character sketches.”

“And what a gripping plot in ‘Omkara’! He was so focused on his script and not at all awed by stars. It’s been a while since I felt so satisfied as an actress,” she added.

Sonam Kapoor finalized for ‘Delhi 6′

Om Shanti Om may have overshadowed Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Saawariya’, but there is no denying to the fact that the movie has done fairly well at the box-office and both Ranbir and Sonam Kapoor have been well received by the audiences.

Now, Sonam Kapoor has apparently bagged the role of the female lead in Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra (Rang De Basanti fame)’s semi-autobiographical film ‘Delhi 6’. Mehra took almost an year to finalize his male lead and finally zeroed in on Abhishek Bachchan.

Mehra called in Sonam and her dad, Anil Kapoor for a script hearing session where both oso them liked the script and gave a positive nod for the film. However, Sonam is yet to sign the dotted line.

No doubt, the tinsel town’s newbie is beaming!!

‘Miss Bollywood’ in trouble

Shilpa Shetty’s musical ‘Miss Bollywood’ has fallen down with a thud. After failing to receive any financial backing from London’s West End, Shilpa was forced to open her musical in Germany. The premiere received a bad response and the show has been facing harsh critical reviews, costume malfunctions and poor ticket sales.

And now lead star Shilpa is down with some mystery illness, consequently failing to show-up at Friday’s performance.

Tour organizer Farhath Hussain says, “Shilpa has been ill all week and it on a course of antibiotics. She needs to take a rest.”

When Dia Mirza slapped Manoj Bajpai

It so happened that Dia Mirza and Manoj Bajpai were shooting for their short film ‘Zaheer’, which is part of Sanjay Gupta’s ‘Dus Kahaniyan’.

In a scene Dia was supposed to slap Manoj. As pre-decided, Dia was to wave her hand close to Manoj’s cheek giving an impression of a slap, but while shooting Dia got so carried away that she placed a real tight slap on Bajpai’s cheek shocking him to the core. Manoj was stunned for a moment but he continued with the scene because director Sanjay Gupta did not call ‘cut’. Gupta has decided to keep the shot in the film because of its real look.

After this incident Manoj has been calling Dia by a new name – Deepak, because of her manly strength.

Riya Sen v/s Aarti Chabbaria

Both Riya Sen and Aarti Chabbaria flayed their tempers at the Police Mela recently. It so happened that both Riya and Aarti were given the same song to perform on. The song in question was ‘Dekha Tujhe to Baji Guitar’ from ‘Apna Sapna Money Money’. However, the girls were not at fault. There was a miscommunication between their choreographers- Swaroop and Pappu Mallu.

Aarti said, “I had practiced on the number for five hours. The number was a part of the medley which I was given. After that I was informed that they were giving that song to Riya. That was not fair. Why should the artists bear the brunt if the choreographers have not communicated with each other? So, I walked out.”

Incidentally Aarti’s manager spoke to the concerned authorities and settled the matter. Aarti got the ‘Dekha Tujhe…” number and Riya gyrated to the ‘Apna Sapna Money Money’ title song.

All’s well that end well!! For your info, the show also had performances from Kareena Kapoor, Himesh Reshammiya, Emraan Hashmi, Kangana Raanut, Dia Mirza, Geeta Basra, Sunil Paul, Mona Singh and Sunidhi Chauhan among others.

For my family and friends, even in my film contracts, I am Priyanka Kothari. So, when somebody calls me Nisha, I am not at all comfortable. In this whole scenario I have been wondering, ‘Who is Nisha?’ This realization made me take this decision.”

A wise decision indeed!

Sonali Kulkarni goes bold in ‘Strangers’

Sonali Kulkarni has always stayed away from glamour and unnecessary exposure in films. But now Sonali has dared to bare her back in Sahara One’s ‘Strangers’.

STRANGER is about the emotional turmoil, mind games and a shockingly devious plot that forms the crux of the emotional thriller starring Jimmy Shergill, Kay Kay Menon, Nandana Sen and Sonali Kulkarni. The film’s storyline revolves around the two men who meet in a train and plot to murder each other’s wife.

Director Anand Raj was apprehensive if Sonali would say yes to a semi-nude scene in the bath tub, but since the scene is an integral part of the film and Sonali being absolute professional, she agreed to do the scene stressing that the scene is not to add sleaze in the film.

Demure Raima Sen on the ramp

Between the Sen sisters, the elder one, Riya Sen, is more bubbly, starry and sizzling, more like her mother Moonmoon Sen. The younger one, Raima Sen, is more sober and demure resembling her grandmother much more than either her mother or sister.
